My journey to starting a wholesale bakery has been nothing short of extraordinary. As I approach the two-year mark as a business owner (which still feels surreal), I’ve been reflecting on this rollercoaster ride. When someone recently asked if I would do it all over again, my answer was an unequivocal YES! Initially, I was hesitant to share my new venture because it seemed like such a departure from my 25-year career in fashion. However, my unwavering confidence in my product gave me the courage to take the plunge.

So, what sparked my foray into cake pops? My partner, Bob, owns a wholesale bakery and distributor that supplies independent espresso stands with thousands of muffins each month. One day, as I strolled through his bakery, I noticed a box of misfit muffins destined for the trash. Inspiration struck—I could transform these into something delightful. In my home kitchen, I developed the concept of creating cake pops from these discarded muffins. After a successful proof of concept with several of Bob’s local routes delivering to independent coffee stands in the greater Seattle area, I decided to go all in for 2022. I invested in production equipment to automate most of the cake pop process, a move that catapulted my business to new heights beyond my wildest dreams.

My dedication to obsessing over my customers, delivering the highest quality products, and consistently introducing new and exciting cake pops each month has been the driving force behind my success. While I remain a designer at heart, my expertise in product development has seamlessly transferred into the food industry.
